Terms & conditions
1. General information
These terms and conditions apply to all purchases and commissions made through Glories of the Past. By purchasing from this site, you agree to the terms outlined below.
2. Product descriptions & condition
All items are described as accurately as possible. Many items are antique or vintage and will show signs of age, wear, and historical use. These characteristics are part of the nature and charm of such pieces and do not constitute faults.
3. Restoration & reworked pieces
Where restoration, repair, or decorative reworking has been carried out, this is stated clearly in the item description. Any work undertaken is intended to enhance the piece while respecting its character and integrity.
4. Commissions & bespoke work
Commissioned work is undertaken on a case-by-case basis. Once a commission has been agreed and work has begun, cancellations are not accepted.
Due to the bespoke nature of commission work, the 50% deposit required for each piece is non-refundable once work has begun. Payment is made by bank transfer following receipt of a written quote or invoice. The remaining balance is payable on completion also by bank transfer, prior to collection or delivery being arranged.
5. Pricing & payment
All prices are stated in GBP unless otherwise specified. Payment must be made in full before items are released or collection is arranged.
6. Collection, delivery & responsibility
Large furniture items are sold as collection only unless otherwise agreed in writing. Buyers are responsible for arranging and paying for their own courier or collecting in person.
Any courier arranged by the buyer acts as the buyer’s agent, and responsibility for the item passes to the buyer once it has been collected.
7. Returns & refunds
Returns and refunds are governed by the Shipping & Returns policy outlined on this site. Please refer to that page for full details.
8. Liability limitation
Glories of the Past cannot be held responsible for damage, loss, or delay once an item has been collected or handed to a buyer-arranged courier.
9. Images & representation
Photographs are provided for illustrative purposes. While every effort is made to represent items accurately, colours and finishes may vary slightly due to lighting and screen differences.
10. Governing law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland.
