PRIVATE SOURCING

Alongside our curated collection, Glories of the Past offers a private sourcing service for clients seeking particular pieces, styles, or periods.

This service is designed for private individuals furnishing a home, restoring a period property, or searching for a specific object that cannot be easily found through standard retail channels.

Drawing on established networks and on-the-ground sourcing, we work quietly and selectively to locate pieces of genuine character and quality.

Each sourcing request is considered individually, with an emphasis on suitability, provenance, and long-term appeal rather than speed or volume.

What I Offer

Trade Pricing

Trade clients receive preferential pricing, typically 10–15% off listed prices, depending on the piece and scope of work.

Sourcing

I can source to brief, including specific eras, styles, proportions, or finishes, and present a small, considered selection of candidates for review.

Custom Finishes

Pieces can be sympathetically refined to suit a scheme, including tonal adjustment, wax sheen, colour matching, lined drawers, or discreet decorative detail. This is quoted separately depending on scope.

Project Holds

A seven-day no-obligation hold is available for trade clients while confirming with a client or finalising a scheme.

Photography

Selected pieces can be photographed in situ for trade use. Styling and location shoots may be available by arrangement and are quoted separately.

Provenance Notes

Concise era attribution and descriptive copy can be provided for sourced pieces, suitable for client presentations or project documentation.

How It Works

1. Send your brief. Please include budget, era, approximate size, finish preferences, and any deadline requirements.

2. Options, pricing & lead times. I present a considered selection of suitable options with pricing and estimated lead times. Where finishing or adaptation is required, lead times are typically 1–4 weeks, depending on complexity and materials.

3. Deposit & payment A 50% deposit is required to secure a piece and commence any finishing or project work. The balance is payable prior to collection or dispatch.

4. Collection or courier is arranged by the client. I’m happy to assist with measurements, access details, and collection coordination where required.

Eligibility

• Trade services are available to interior designers, stylists, set decorators, hospitality clients, and retail projects.

• To activate trade pricing, please provide a website, Instagram account, or other professional business presence.

Lead Times

• Stock pieces: typically 3–7 days before collection
• Custom finishes or project adaptation: typically 1–4 weeks, depending on scope

• Approvals: final photos provided before collection by yourself or your arranged courier.

• Returns: All trade sales are final. Due to the nature of antique, vintage, and project-adapted pieces, returns are not accepted on either standard or custom-finished items.

• Collection/Delivery: All couriers are arranged by the client and act as the client’s agent. Responsibility for the item transfers to the client once it has been collected. I document condition and packaging prior to handover for transparency.

FAQ's

• Do you offer finishes to my palette?

Yes. Finishes can be adjusted to match supplied swatches or reference samples, including tonal variation and sheen.

• Can your source pairs/sets?

Often, with sufficient notice. Availability depends on the brief and timeframe.

• Can you white-label?

Yes. Discreet or unbranded presentation can be arranged for trade projects where required.
